Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in a compassionate and responsible manner - Feed, water, and groom animals according to their specific needs - Clean and maintain animal enclosures, including cages, kennels, and play areas - Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff - Administer medications or treatments as directed by owner of rescue - Assist with veterinary procedures, such as vaccinations or examinations - Provide exercise and enrichment activities for animals to promote their physical and mental well-being - Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medical treatments, and behavioral observations Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and techniques - Experience in pet care roles is highly desirable - Familiarity with kennel operations and handling various types of animals (dogs, cats, livestock) - Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavior modification principles - Knowledge of animal body language - Proficiency in animal handling, ensuring the safety of both the animal and yourself - Familiarity with veterinary terminology and basic understanding of animal physiology As an Animal Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our animals.
