n/aPurposeThe Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller in maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting; ensuring acceptable levels of internal control; ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations; and safeguarding owner's assets, consistent with Rod 'N' Reel Resort's quality standards, operating systems, procedures, core values and mission statement.
Key AccountabilitiesoPerform administrative functions including typing, answering telephones, and composing correspondence.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ensuring all correspondence is entirely accurate.
oDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, customers, and guests.
oSupports the team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other team members.
oWelcome and acknowledge all guests according to Rod 'N' Reel Resort's core values and principles.
oRepresent, support, and protect the Rod 'N' Reel Resort's brand.
RequirementsCore ResponsibilitiesoMonitor, prepare, and communicate financial reports in accordance with property required due dates.
oIncome Audit management for accurate daily reporting of revenues.
oMonitor guest ledger, advance deposit ledger and any other related ledgers to ensure proper internal control.
oKeep management aware of any unusual operation or financial occurrences and/or significant deviations.
oAssist with monthly F&B inventories and weekly cost analysis.
oAssist in the monthly close process by posting journal entries that are related to daily/monthly responsibilities, including bank reconciliations.
oReconcile balance sheet accounts.
oCross-Train in other areas within the Accounting Department including accounts payable.
oAbility to identify root causes of issues that may affect staff or guests and provide actionable and measurable solutions to improve efficiency, overall work environment, and/or guest experience.
QualificationsoBachelor's Degree in Accounting (preferred)o5-7 years accounting work experienceoMust be proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office (Intermediate Excel and Basic Word)oGreat Plains accounting software experience is preferred.
oCollege courses in an associated or related field and/or related experience in a hotel or Hospitality environmentoFlexible and long hours sometimes required, especially during the last and first few days of the monthoMust be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.
oMust be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
oMust be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
oMaintain regular attendance in compliance with resort standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
oMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
oMaximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
oMust be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
oMust be able to understand complex information, data, etc.
from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
oMust be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
oMust be able to show initiative, including anticipating guests or operational needs.
oPerform other duties as requested by management.
Physical RequirementsPosition requires sitting for extended periods of time.
This position may on occasion require the lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing of up to approximately 10 lbs.
Must be able to bend, reach, use hand and fingers to operate keyboards and other computer equipment.
Salary Description $80,000 per year Recommended Skills Accounting Accounting Software Accounts Payable Administration Attention To Detail Balance Sheet Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
